Adam: Did you go to a big school or a small school?

David: I went to a very small school in the country.

Adam: Really? I attended a very large school in the centre in the city.

David: How many students attended your school?

Adam: I’m not sure. There were between eight hundred and a thousand.

David: That’s a lot! My school only had one hundred students.

Adam: How many teachers were there?

David: Ten teachers worked at the school. The classes were very small.

Adam: At my school there were thirty students in each class.

David: Was it easy to study at such a big school?

Adam: No, it wasn’t. Was it easy to learn at your school?

David: Yes, it was.

Adam: Was there anything bad about going to your school?

David: Well, there was one really annoying thing.

Adam: What was that?

David: Every morning I walked seven kilometres to school.

Ты ходил в большую школу или в маленькую?

Дэвид: Я учился в очень маленькой школе в селе.

Адам: Да? Я ходил в очень большую школу в центре города.

Дэвид: Сколько учеников училось в вашей школе?

Адам: Я не совсем уверен. От восьмисот до тысячи.

Дэвид: Это много! В моей школе было только сто учеников.

Дэвид: Каждое утро я шёл в школу семь километров пешком.

This conversation is about going to different types of school. You can go to a very large school in the city with eight hundred or a thousand students or you can go to a small village school with one hundred students and ten teachers. It is easier to learn in a small school but there is one really annoying thing about going to a small school. Sometimes you have to walk seven kilometres to the school.

Nick: You are lucky. I don’t have any brothers or sisters.

Bob: I think you are lucky. I don’t like living in a big family.

Nick: Why not?

Bob: There are many reasons. My two elder brothers are very nice.

Nick: I see. What about your younger brothers?

Bob: My younger brothers are very nice. I like to play with them.

Nick: What about your sisters?

Bob: I have five sisters. All five are older than me.
