Патрисия Мэдсон преподает почти полвека. В 1971 году она стала преподавателем кафедры драматического искусства Стэнфордского университета, а в 1991 году организовала группу Stanford Improvisors. Находясь на посту руководителя курса актерского мастерства для студентов, она была удостоена высшей университетской награды за выдающиеся достижения в преподавательской деятельности – премии Ллойда Динкельшпиля (Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award). Кроме того, Мэдсон преподает в Институте Эсален, в Калифорнийском институте трансперсональной психологии, а также участвует в работе программы для аспирантов Стэнфордского университета. На протяжении десяти лет она была американским координатором Школы традиционных японских искусств оомото, расположенной в г. Камеока.
Патрисия живет вместе с мужем Роном и котом гималайской породы по кличке Будда в калифорнийском городке Эль-Гранада, там она возглавляет калифорнийский центр «Созидательной жизни». Это ее первая книга.
