If you are interested, perhaps you would get in touch with me as soon as possible. I shall of course be pleased to give you any futher details about the appartment you may require.

Dear Mr Schach

I’m writing to you to complain about the bicycle (Ragazzi, Modell: Off-Road MTB 26’’, 18-G. Shimano SIS/TY22, DM 198, etc) I bought in REAL in October, 2004.

The month after the purchase data I should bring this bicycle back to repair the gears system. Two months later we faced with a problem with the right pedal. Now poor bicycle left its left pedal. I would like to point out that my 10 years old son with a standard body parameters used this bicycle and not very regularly.

I do appreciate service people from REAL who cared about and repaired this damn bicycle, but I’m asking you: «Did I buy a scrap metal?». Do you have any quality control in your company? Why should I suffer from all this problems, bringing and picking it up three times with a public transport, clean my dress after each logistic operation? If it was a very special edition for a low price, it should be mentioned in advance don’t mislead customers. I am totally convinced that each company is responsible for the quality of goods offered. But my purchase is a shame for REAL and a big problem for me.

Therefore, I’m asking for money back. This bicycle now is in REAL to be repaired and I don’t want to get it back.

I’d prefer to thank you for your attention, than to complain to the proper organization about this case.

Dear Sir/Madame,

I’m writing to you to complain about the service offered by your company.

I made a mistake and signed an agreement to deliver me the magazine «Sweet Lady».

As it was indicated in the contract I had right to terminate this agreement during one week after signing without any penalty and consequences. I used this right and terminated this contract the day after in the written form as it was indicated in the contract.

Nevertheless I received one issue of this edition for May 8 – 15 and a bill.

I returned this magazine as well as the bill enclosed.

I was very surprised to get a letter with the new bill and explanation that your company is not responsible for this situation.

I would like to point out that I’m not resposible too.

I used the regular way you offered in the contract and I didn’t receive the issue from May 1-9. I can conclude that different devisions of your company don’t communicate well and offer service in very different manner.

Therefore, I’m kindly asking you, please, do not send me any issues, bill, magazines and other offers. I don’t suppose to be a customer of the company who doesn’t fulfill its obligations.

«Game Star», which I bought from you last week. As you will see from the enclosed bill, these cost $15 each. One of them frayed out at the edges after the first washing. In one of them, which was striped in red and blue, the colours have run away.

These T-shirts were not sold on sale, nor did the price I paid lead me to expect that they would be of inferior quality. Does your company have any price– quality corporate culture?

Therefore I must insist to have my money refunded.

Please let me know what you would like me to do with these T-shirts?

I visited this machine at the Pall-Mall underground station directly at the entrance at 14.45 last Saturday, May 20, 2004 to print my business cards. I choose pattern N 5807 with color CD’s design, inserted two coins for $5, followed instructions and got nothing.

I called immediately to your head quarter and left my message on the answering machine.

Therefore, I’d like to get my business cards and kindly ask you to prepare and send it to my address. As far as I already paid money, I call for to do it immediately. Please, put the following information at the card.

Dear Anna

Thank you for your letter which came yesterday. I did enjoy hearing from you. The news of your interview is very interesting. You didn’t if=whether you get the job. I hope so. I was very sorry to hear that you had been/were burgled again. How many times has this happened to you? Five hundred pounds is a lot of money. Do police know who did it?

You wanted me to tell you about what I am doing in Edinburgh, and what my life here is like. Well, I’m enjoying it very much. The course is good, but harder than I thought. At first I have no friends, but I got to know people from my (the same) Department (as me). At the moment I’m spending all the whole time=all my time to buy books I need to read for my course, but it is difficult to find them. I’m sure I’ll find them soon. As soon as I buy them, I’ll be very busy!

I must stop now. A friend of mine asked me to write the letter in French and I promised to help him. Write or phone me soon. If you come to Scotland, you could visit me, but remeber=don’t forget to bring a warm clothes! It’s so cold here=such cold weather here!

Dear Alex,

I hope you are well

I finally got around to making copies of the pictures I took during the «Farewell Dinner». Here’s a copy for you to cherish! Although I interested to do this sooner I was somewhat incapacitated with an attack of flu followed by a bout of pneumonia (3weeks out of work). So my best intentions were hindered by the state of my health. I eventually recovered and the last two weekends I have been feeling strong again. Unfortunately, Mary never fully recovered from the flu and contracted bronchitis; also necessitating a course of antibiotics for two weeks. She is doing a lot better now although not yet 100% fit.

I will not be going to Paris for the meeting in April as my new job does not permit it. I was sideways «promoted» in the Ocean Organisation by being nominated «Scientific Expert in Organic Chemistry» and also made Programme Head for one of our projects.

Unfortunatelly neither of these position carries any management responsibility, the reason being that I was deemed too inexperienced to manage one of the new Ocean departments– although some of the other «managers» are contemporaries of mine, one of whom I worked with during a postdoc period! It turns out to be a blessing in disguise as I now have much more time to look for a job elsewhere. So life goes on. I’ve already had one interview and have several other active offers – the hard bit is choosing the right one. Strangely enough it seems that many companies are interested in my skills, what a shame– Ocean isn’t!

So that’s it for now. I wish you well for the New Year both in your private life and at work.
